Are people at peace with 'where they are at' spiritually?

The new year of 2010

It's crazy how fast time goes and you don't end up doing half the things you think you want too!!

Nevertheless, have put up a new question - I'm keen for some thoughts, feeling quite stale in the spiritual pondering lately. Have just been cruising and enjoying life ( which is also good - don't get me wrong!)

Hope you have started the year well everyone!

Isn't life great??

Today I went for little paddle out in the sounds... I was with some friends for the first hour and then turned and paddled home by myself. As I was slicing my way through the dead calm water and looking around at the birds, seals, trees, and water and general sight, I was just struck thinking - man my life is good! This has got to be peace. No niggles, no stress, happy with where life is at the moment and what I'm doing, no guilt of any description, just simple contentment with almost all areas of my life. How blessed am I?

I have no real big philosophical questions to pose with this post, just merely a thought of sometimes a simple life is a good one. I've had a couple of lessons lately - one from my OB students who just worked through 9 straight days of rain with stellar attitudes who then totally came to grasp an immense appreciation for a simple dry place to eat and sleep, dry clothes and a hot meal......so true, it's the simple things we often take forgranted.... and also a older gentleman Bernie who works here as our night watchman has started giving me a word of wisdom every night, stuff that he would like to know if he was 26 again ( I had my birthday earlier this month) and one of them was - do something for yourself every day without fail - even if it is just 5 seconds of a moment for you.... and another never have 2 days of stress in a row....

Again, no real questions but I found it a couple of interesting thoughts so thought I'd share them :-)

Anyone got any questions / thoughts for the month?? I thought the Life of a mustic could get some more discussion going.... maybe we need to spread the word of this blog to others to get a broader base of contributers...?? please contribute!

Nice post, a life of contentment is definitely the desire of my heart, way too easy getting wound up with having more. Last two weeks at church the pastor has discussed the idea of how the current economic times could be a great opportunity to investigate new economic models (rather than constant growth and consumerism) that enable us to give more (and she wasn't meaning more offerings for the church, but actively sharing in our community and global communities) and to be more content.

Have had a couple more thoughts for topics. "What the hell does God know.." discussing whether God knows everything that will ever happen. And "Creation, the "Big Bang", Evolution and God" do you like the catchy headings? Trying to be more controversial so to spark up more discussion. Either of those appeal?
